Upon being elected...

...I plan two immediate moves. One, is to set a meeting date for initiative and discussion with a focus strictly on providing a Healthcare Plan for all Americans. Two, I will make a trip to Iraq and Afghanistan to hear from our local troops and pledge to them your prayers and loyalty. In over five years of war, and troops from the most militarized state in the country, I find it totally unbelievable that Walter Jones, who helped send them over there and then tries to break their loyalty through sentiment, has never once traveled to Iraq to give encouragement and some peace to families at home. Senators, other Congressmen, Federal Officials etc., have been there to show support and listen to their pain; but, Walter Jones has never made the effort no matter what the excuse. And, many of these troops are from our 3rd District. He has worked the sentiment of the war and its effect on family, from the safety of his seat in Congress. Walter Jones might try something now for election purpose; but, it is too late. He's had all this time to support the troops. When elected, I will be with your Loved Ones with your thoughts and letters of faith and hope shortly after the election!

Weber, who attended the event, spoke on a variety of issues facing the 3rd Congressional District, but reminded the crowd of how important it is to support Obama. "One hundred and fifty years ago, a man came out of Illinois to put the pieces back together - his name was Abraham Lincoln," Weber said. "One hundred and fifty years later another man comes out of Illinois to put the pieces back together - his name is Barack Obama."

2. My Letter of Thanks to You!

My Fellow Eastern North Carolinians,
Thank You for your support! With the May 6th primaries, you showed you have an obvious choice for who you want to represent you.

Other than Brad Miller's victory in District 13, we won our race with the greatest percentage of votes (69.2%) in the 2008 N.C. Primaries!

However, our journey has only begun and your support is greatly needed. Though not the best choice for our future, our opponent in November's General Election is a formidable one. We need your help in educating Eastern North Carolina that I am the best person to lead us through the coming years!

I humbly Thank You again!

Sincerely,
CPWeber

On February 13th 2008, Craig Weber from Carteret County filed for the 3rd Congressional District. He was the Democratic Candidate in 2006, and is once again seeking the seat currently held by Walter Jones Jr.

Craig is well known throughout Eastern NC where he and much of his family still call home. He also served this community as weatherman for WCTI Ch 12 for a number of years. Mr. Weber helped start The Weather Channel as one of its first meteorologists. He worked in Atlanta, Houston, Philadelphia and New York; but Eastern North Carolina is where he has called home for over 40 years. He is a family man. His passion for the welfare of the people of Eastern North Carolina is infinite and without question.

Let us take our District back. Let us take our Country back. I will be a Congressman of the People.
